CHEW

This is a practice in learning how to chew our food, so we can benefit the most from its contents.
For total nourishment to happen, we must turn the solids into liquid.  One of the wise masters of the east said, “Drink your food and chew your liquids.”

How aware his philosophy is.  In order for us to become nourished by the food’s components, we must first liquefy it with the juices in our mouths.
Once the food has been altered by the saliva's enzymes and liquefied, its total content can be mixed more easily in our stomachs, and drawn more readily by our intestines.

Liquids—such as milk, fruit or vegetable juice, meat broths, and other beverages—are better absorbed through the intestinal tracts when they have been held in the mouth for a few moments, to extract the enzymes.

Do you like nutrition?
If not, learn to.  It could save your life.

It is imperative that you chew, chew, chew, chew.  Focus on your teeth and the roughage that they chomp—pulverize your food and an amazing thing will take place.

More flavor than you’ve ever imagined—more taste than the very same foods you had yesterday—will flood your senses.

Be patient, for this is a tricky exorcise, as our society is rampant with gulpers.  The poor state of the over-worked and underpaid majority is incredibly stressful.  They are so hurried to get everything done alone—without help from the tribe, (as we destroyed that concept long ago), and without money for a hired assistant—they barely have the time to sit at a table, and slowly consume a plate of nourishment.

It is also a tricky practice because the reflexes of the throat—when we are hungry, or simply in the lifelong habit of not chewing properly—are in an anxious state.

They want to swallow.  You must use your Will to force the food from slipping toward your throat.  Do not swallow until you feel the bite turn to a fine paste or become totally liquefied.

Because most of us are a bunch of gulpers, reeducation is paramount.  Chew your food—practice every time you put something in your mouth.

Chew slowly, and with consciousness.  Never mind all the stressors—desires, needs, bills and problems—for ten minutes.  The slower you eat and the more you chew, the less food you will be able to guzzle.  In time, your food portions will lessen.

Chew…Chew…Chew…Chew…

Then close your eyes for a moment, and watch the canals in your head...
notice the motion and the firing of your brainwaves...

breathe the air in—long and slow—three times with vigor—but do not get anxious, as you just finished eating...

look inside and see what your stomach is doing, then fill it with light...

tighten your butt cheeks...

shake your hands,
and form an electrical ball...

stand on your toes while clutching your step with your claws...

then walk outside and have a scan...

(After this exorcise, you will have food in your stomach, so give yourself a much needed break and move slowly.)

And every time you exhale, imagine all your Fears, Tears, Pains and Enemies are being evacuated with your old air.
