AGE
The desire and blessing of the children—the fear and curse of the adults—is age. It will happen to every single one of us unless we die first. And since most people are afraid to die, Age becomes the center of attention—the inevitable one dancing confidently in the middle of the stage.
Age is power—experience and knowledge—yet, young people resent the older ones because, in their eyes, the older ones are lost.
But because the child has not aged enough to state his opinions confidently—or when he does, he is not taken seriously because of his young age—his beliefs are powerless, and he is forced to cooperate with the “lost ones”.
So the child craves the time to move, speed up and give him more years. Children want to be adults so they can have the power that comes with Age. With this expected power they can control their world—and change everything to work for them.
But when the child becomes an adult, he discovers Age is not everything. Intelligence and Motivation are the most important tools for control—outside of Money.
In fact, the lack of power that most adults have is so frustrating that they begin to hate Age, and want nothing more to do with it. Things did not go as planned, and now the body is starting to falter.
So, not only did the child find himself up against a very thick wall when it came to having power over his world, but he also discovered that his physical strength, his mental sharpness, and his energy levels keep waning—in a word, aging.
Imagine the frustration of yearning to be older so you can do what you want, and then discovering you had more freedom as a child—that you are as powerless as you ever were.
Now the childhood Vices (sugars and fats) that placated our anxiousness as children have become multiplied. As adults who did not get what we yearned for when we were young—our expectations left unsatisfied—we have become even more anxious with life, and quite fed up.
Age has let us down.
As the Vices become stronger and more varied, we realize that not only has the power we craved eluded us, but our obvious inability at being able to control the chronic intake of exhausting, expensive Vices, is driving us nuts. The more out of control—nuts—we feel, the more our Vices own us.
What a vicious cycle we have gotten ourselves into—and, good God, those years just keep on coming. As we get older, we get weaker—or at least that’s what we think. The more hopeless we feel at the inevitable aging, the more we become addicted to our Vices—medicine that disguises or placates our hopeless feelings of ever having power.
The truth is, as children we had it. We knew what we were doing when we believed that Age would bring us power.
What has more power—more strength—the young sapling or the ancient tree? What has more power—more knowledge—the newly formed rock or the old rock? What has more power—more life—seasonal lakes or the ocean? What has more power—more courage—the baby chick in its nest or the soaring parent carrying the worm?
Age is not our enemy—we are. Age is not destroying our bodies—we are. Our addictions for Vices—plus the destruction of the toxins created by excess—are the destroyers, not the years.
Age is innocent. We are the ones who have chosen to view our powerlessness as a wall that cannot be penetrated, when—ironically—every one of us has Power. There are no obstacles; everything is surmountable, for we are all born with Will. None of us would have made it past the crawling stages if we were not born with will power.
Granted, when a person experiences a crippling accident, the main doors into Power have been closed. But it does not mean the Will has died. You may choose to ignore it, but the Will cannot die.
Where there is Will there is power. When we feel powerless to our Vices, it is because we have chosen to be powerless—we have chosen to ignore our Wills.
But know this, people. Your age is not deteriorating your body and your mind—it is your choice to have destructive addictions that take away your power, your youth, your strength, your energy, and your brilliance.
You have the power to change and make your childhood dreams come true. Be brave, keep reading this website, and you may find yourself in Section III, where the lessons in magic—or will power—begin.
